Existing Conditions
The existing pool heating pump, which delivers heating plant water to the pool heat exchanger, operates continually.
Retrofit Conditions
Inexpensive automatic controls can be added to activate the heating pump only when the pool aquastat is calling for heat and to leave the pump off at other times. Note that this measure does not involve the pool recirculation pump, which must run all the time, but only the pump carrying boiler plant water to the pool heat exchanger.
