Existing Conditions
There are several electric infrared <electric forced air unit> heaters in xxx of this facility. Electric resistance is a very expensive way to heat a building.
Retrofit Conditions
It is recommended that low intensity natural gas fired tube heaters <high intensity natural gas fired quartz heaters> be installed to replace the electric heaters. This measure will result in reduced energy costs from the lower priced fuel. In addition, infrared heat tends to be more economical because it heats only the interior surfaces; not the air. Comfort will be adequate for the arena environment.
