Existing Conditions
The urinals are fitted with tanks that continuously fill and release regardless of occupancy.
Retrofit Conditions
We recommend that Cistermiser fill controls be installed on existing urinal tanks. Cistermisers operate by monitoring the domestic water line for slight pressure variations that result from water use in the building. When the building is occupied, the Cistermiser will operate the urinal tanks to fill as they do at present. When the building is unoccupied, however, the Cistermiser will flush only once every 12 hours, instead of every few minutes. This results in significant water savings. Cistermisers must be adjusted at each site for acceptable flow rate and pressure sensitivity.
