Laundry - Washing Machine Replacement

  rev. 2008-11-25

Existing Conditions

The existing washing machines are traditional top-loading models.  A typical top-loading washing machine uses up to 40 gallons of water.

Retrofit Conditions

We recommend replacing the existing machines with front-loading machines that typically use 16 to 24 gallons of water for each load.

Further Benefits

A front loading washing machine has a faster spin cycle.  This removes more water from the laundry, reducing resulting drying time and energy use.  In addition, a gentler tumbling action reduces wear on clothing, and the smaller water volume requires less detergent.

Application Details

Specialty service providers like Coinamatic or Sparkle Solutions can provide a full turn-key service.

Issues and Concerns

Once the cycle starts, it is impossible to open the loading hatch to add or remove clothing.
