Existing Conditions

The major building systems are controlled independently from one another, so information is not passed among systems to integrate control effectively.  Building operators do not have an ability to set alarms, track and monitor equipment operation and performance, or utilize trending information to address problems and flag potential issues.

Retrofit Conditions

Given the large savings potential and the number of control upgrades suggested at this facility, it may be wise to install a full DDC automation system.  Such a system can help sustain savings over the long term, by facilitating monitoring and adjustment of all controlled equipment from a single operator terminal.

This decision can be made when the retrofits are engineered.
