Provisioning

According to various online sources, Provisioning is defined as:

•	The act of supplying a service to an end user.

•	The process of managing attributes and accounts within the scope of a defined business process or interaction. Provisioning an account or service may involve the creation, modification, deletion, suspension, or restoration of a defined set of accounts or attributes.

•	The process enabling administrators to assign system resources and privileges to users, including employees, contractors and business partners. IT managers may also enforce security policy through provisioning software.
